4. Commercial terms
ModAi Lab is a subscription-based SQL learning platform. The detailed terms covering plans, pricing, payment, right of withdrawal, automatic renewal and cancellation are set out in full in the Terms of Sale and the Terms of Use, both reachable from the site footer.
Where these legal notices and the Terms of Sale or Terms of Use conflict on commercial matters, the Terms of Sale prevail.
5. Personal data protection (GDPR)
Processing of the User's personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR — EU Regulation 2016/679) and French law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 on data processing, data files and individual liberties. The data controller is MODAI LAB, 126 Rue d'Alésia CX 75685, 75014 Paris, France.
5.1 Data collected and purposes
- •Identification data (email, name) — purpose: account management and customer relations
- •Learning data (quiz answers, SQL queries, scores, progress) — purpose: AI personalisation of the learning path and progress tracking
- •Technical data (connection logs, IP address) — purpose: security and abuse detection
- •Billing data — handled directly by Stripe; the publisher does not store bank details
5.2 Legal basis
Processing rests on: performance of the contract (delivery of the service), legal obligation (retention of billing data), and the User's consent for optional marketing communications.
5.3 Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure (the “right to be forgotten”), restriction of processing, portability and objection. To exercise them: contact@modai-lab.com. If a complaint remains unresolved, you may refer the matter to the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
5.4 Retention period
Data is kept for the duration of the active subscription and for up to 3 years after cancellation or account deletion, unless a legal obligation requires longer (billing data is kept for 10 years under the French Commercial Code).
6. Cookies
6.1 Strictly necessary cookies
The site uses technical cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to work. These do not require your prior consent, under article 82 of the French Data Protection Act.

6.2 Analytics cookies
We use analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used and to improve your experience. They show how users interact with the service (pages viewed, journeys, key events). They are only set with your explicit consent.
We use Google Analytics (Google LLC, United States) as our analytics provider. Data is kept for 13 months and transferred to the United States under the Data Privacy Framework.
6.3 Managing your consent
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline analytics cookies. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookies" link in the site footer (visitors who are not signed in) or in the "Feedback & help" section of the platform menu (signed-in users).
Declining analytics cookies has no effect on your use of the service.
7. Limitation of liability
ModAi Lab undertakes to use all necessary means to keep the service available and secure. MODAI LAB cannot, however, be held liable for interruptions caused by maintenance, by technical failures outside its control, or by events of force majeure.
The learning content on ModAi Lab is provided for information and education. MODAI LAB does not guarantee employment or any particular professional outcome on completion.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
These legal notices are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and failing an amicable settlement, the courts having jurisdiction over MODAI LAB's registered office shall have jurisdiction, subject to the mandatory consumer provisions, in particular article R631-3 of the French Consumer Code, which gives jurisdiction to the court where the consumer is domiciled.
Under article L612-1 of the French Consumer Code, every consumer has the right to use a consumer mediator free of charge to settle a dispute amicably.
